In fantastic news, WA home builders now have access to more in government housing grants than ever before following the recent introduction of the new $25,000* Federal HomeBuilder grant and the $20,000* WA Building Bonus.
Both grants can be used in conjunction with existing schemes and concessions, which means there’s never been a better time to build a home in your dream community.
The HomeBuilder Grant is a tax-free federal government grant program designed to support the construction industry by encouraging new home builds or the substantial renovation of existing homes in 2020.
Eligible owner-occupiers (Including first home buyers) will receive $25,000 to put towards construction.
The grant is time limited and is available for contracts signed between the 4th of June and the 31st of December 2020, construction must commence within three months of the contract being signed.

The WA Building Bonus is a grant program designed to stimulate the Western Australia construction industry and to promote investment into the state’s housing market. The $20,000 grant will be paid to eligible applicants to build new homes.
The grant is in addition to the federal government HomeBuilder program and other state grants – this means that home builders could qualify for up to $45,000 to build their new homes, and first home buyers could receive up to $55,000 between the new grants and the existing WA First Home Owners grant.
To be eligible to receive the Building Bonus you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
The WA First Home Owners grant scheme provides eligible first time home buyers with a once-off payment of $10,000 to build their own homes. First home buyers may also qualify for stamp duty concessions.
Am I eligible to receive the WA First Home Owners Grant (FHOG)?
To be eligible for the FHOG you must meet the following criteria:
First home buyers are exempt from paying stamp duty on vacant land under $300,000 and concessional rates on land between $300,000 and $400,000.
